ATS Presenting Session at Maryland Early Childhood Conference

ATS is excited to be presenting "Understanding Autism: An Overview of Clinical Presentation and Opportunities for Success Through Applied Behavior Analysis" at the Maryland Early Childhood Conference on September 21, 2019! This conference breakout session will be presented by Catherine Hughes, Director of Family Support and Community Engagement and Angela Gibney, RBT, Family Support and Community Engagement Specialist.

Session abstract:

This session provides an overview of the definitions and impact of Autism Spectrum Disorder as currently defined in today’s society, describing core clinical features of the diagnosis, reviewing prevalence and debunking myths. We follow this with discussion about implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis in a logical, meaningful, and effective yet respectful manner. We conclude with best proactive recommendations in supporting individuals and families across communities. Engaging audience activities are included.
