Lauren is a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) at Achieving True Self in Irwin, PA. She joined the team in August 2021.
Lauren began her career as a teacher. After graduating from Penn State, she was a substitute teacher in several public schools surrounding the Pittsburgh area. She found a love for speech and language while working in schools. Lauren has two years of experience as an SLP at a school-based partial hospital and public school setting.
Lauren has a bachelor’s degree in elementary and kindergarten education from Penn State. She also has a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from CalU. She received her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from IUP. Lauren holds a certificate in elementary education (K-6), middle-level mathematics (7-9), and middle-level English (7-9) in addition to the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). Lauren is committed to being a lifelong learner by frequently attending seminars and reading current research articles.
Lauren and her fiance, Andy, live in Westmoreland County with their cat, Willow.
Fun Fact(s) About Lauren: From 2017-2019, Lauren was a charity runner in the Pittsburgh Half Marathon and Pittsburgh Full Marathon for the Organization for Autism Research.
